School Library

Our School library was opened in 2009, as part of the new hall. We have over 2500 new books which are organised into age bands

The library is well used by all our children, with each class having a weekly library visit where they can browse and borrow a book.

We have a reference section to the library which is used for Curriculum topics, information searches, by the children and staff.

This reference section has a wide variety of information books for Science, History, The Arts, Geography and the Natural world.

The library is organised into colour coded age appropriate sections, with books .from large picture books for the Infants in the Yellow section, to novels by famous authors.

1st /2nd class have well known early reading level story books with favourite authors such as Francesca Simon’s Horrid Henry Books, in the Red Section of the library.

The Green section is for the senior classes with a variety of authors from Roald Dahl, Judy Curtain, Jacqueline Wilson, Anthony Horovitz, Derek Landy, J.K Rowling, Eoin Colfer, Michael Murpurgo.

We celebrate World Book day every March, with the whole school community sharing books and everyone reads together.

Our library is colourful, welcoming and very well used and a visit is eagerly looked forward to . Our school community values reading, Reading is FUN.
